The name Rex, which translates to king, suits them well.

Still a very popular breed, they are often eschewed by large dog owners as being tiny, barking balls of fur. In reality, they are very protective and aggressive. They have no idea that their size is in any way a handicap against larger beasts. Large dog owners may refer to the small Pomeranian as Pox, while their owners may call lovingly call them Fluffy.

Once known as badger hounds because they hunted beasts of the same name, Dachshunds are sweet and loyal. Often Dachshunds are found as miniatures, but have retained their hunting skills. Although now they hunt rabbits instead of the badgers their predecessors hunted. Natives of Germany, they aspire to achieve the rank of certified hunters and trackers. When they reach this level of training, they are known as a Teckel. Teckel is a wonderful name for this adorable pet.

Naming your puppies really is personal because it is a name offered by a loving owner to a pet who will unconditionally love that person. Regardless of the data presented, the name should be one that you like and that the pet responds to. It does not matter who does or does not like it.
