Q&A: What pets are good to have around babies?

Question by Rebecca: What pets are good to have around babies?
Right now we currently have no pets,
since i have highly allergic to Cats and Dogs

but me and my husband are expecting twins in the next few months and we really think a pet would be great

so other than cat or dog, what works well with babies?
(no fish, i want them to be able to hold the animal)
