Learning All About The Artist

For an artist, a dog is the guard to life and death. This female artist first explored the symbolic meaning of shadow dogs in a series of black and white paintings and monotypes on display at the local restaurant located on their main street. With a fine arts degree from a university in New Mexico she has debut her work in so many states in the country. Notably she has always gotten recognition in mediums like fabrics, photography and printmaking.

She now likes working with frogs. With the medium of steel she was able to make her work reach about 10 feet. Her thesis was entitled a young girl's fascination with frogs.

Taking part in her thesis was also her work on non rational states of consciousness. Her work boast of the link she created to certain shamanistic beliefs like the way a person can collaborate with animals by combining forms. In order to get our civilization to continue being, then we have to learn the olden ways of surviving this artists says. These days, according to her, it is required that people work together with other life forms.

Looking at the monoprints she has with dogs it is clear that collaboration is there. She volunteers at the local humane society and photographs for the local news as well. She even adopted four stray dogs into her home.

There animals are all over her monoprints. In this manner she is more obligated to work faster and better. It is easier if you know how to work on two things at the same time. Here one is really physically challenge.

Despite being able to see an image you are still unsure of how it will really turn out. Her abstract portraits of dogs are direct and unsentimental.

Her work will always include moments that will turn out to be fun and at times absurd. The subjects of her paintings can be seen yawning, sleeping in the grass, portrayed with their heads lost in a culvert or a can of kibble.

Titles are significant as well. It is still funny even of you do not know what really happened. She is also willing to work on commission for individual owners. She works alongside her husband in their own business.
