Using Aesthetics To Display Art

After years of experience in hanging pictures one could come up with certain rules. When it comes to hanging pictures do not hang them on all the walls you notice unless you've always yearned to live in an art gallery and it is best if you hang pictures to make a wall not seem bare. Hanging pictures can be done in groups, over a console table, a server, a sofa, or a small pier table.

There is a second rule. Don't let the grouping become wider than the piece of furniture under it. If you want to give a unified look to a wall, hang the pictures close together, especially if they're of varying sizes. You may be one who has a prized collection of bird prints with different frames in kind and size. Hang them close together in pleasing geometrics not frame against frame, however.

This is not the end of the rules. Pictures may be hung close together but the wall as a frame serves to set off a group of pictures on all four sides. In the process of applying pleasing geometry, pictures should be hung in the formation of a square or a rectangle. It is possible that you have four pictures all framed alike and of the same size you may want hang them geometrically in a square over the sofa, or in a straight line over a long table, or vertically above a small step table. Using the step pattern to hang pictures is ideal for staircases. As often as possible you should go for straight lines that meet at right angles. Sometimes you need a little regimentation in life.

Consider that you have a number of pictures you have been able to accumulate over a lifetime inclusive of old family portraits, originals, prints, and reproductions. When it comes to hanging these together framing and matting everything alike would make everything unified. Simple gold frames were used for 16 prints and one friend matted them in forest green. A sensational look was achieved as they were set against a red wall. For one friend adding color was a matter of matting each picture over her sofa in a unique shade. Aside from being of the same size there was only one subject for the pictures.

Have you been in a position wherein you stared into a department store model room and found it rather bare? Considering a picture perfect room no one has slept, lived, eaten, and taken phone calls there. The missing part is individuality. Your home should have this.

Selling furniture is easier done with the department store model as a home is designed for the purpose of providing you with comfort and pleasure. Important in this case is that you pick your favorite color. Choosing colors involves keeping in mind that these could affect a room's mood. Colors can easily depict varying emotions. For your space consider taking a look at some color charts to see what colors might be good or not. You individual choice is the best option in this case.
