Therapy Dog Training Tips - Responsible Pet Ownership

I was consulting with a friend today and this individual was showing me regarding his neighbor's dog whom barks anxiously from early in the morning until the people return late in the day. This happens daily except on the weekends. My friend's concern was more for the well-being of this dog compared to the disturbance pollution which had descended for their quiet community.

Apparently, the neighbors refuse to accept that their dog is upset when the family is away. My friend had tried to talk to them but there was so much defensiveness that it was a wasted effort. It seems the dog was a rescue and had been badly abused and his new family was extremely protective.

I have noticed this attitude just before. I believe the canine will adjust when he finds out the people do come back every single day. The entire predicament is new for the dog and, based mostly on his history, merely a bit disturbing. My buddy is extremely understanding of the circumstances, however, being informed 'if anyone don't like it a person can easily move' didn't really go over very very well.

I don't would like to obtain into a judgment or condemnation of neighborhood squabbles; I do desire to suggest a very simple resolution that can work to everyone's benefit. You will find sonic products that, generally, release a substantial pitched noise which is above a humans hearing range. However a dog can hear it and will generally cease barking. It is a compact unit which can be put up in the property and may work up to sixty ft away. In the event the dog barks, the sonic sound is produced and is irritating to the dog. It does not damage the dog.

With that said, I will tell you another story about a different friend. She was the one with the barking dogs. Her neighbor put up the bark discouraging device in his yard and every time my friend's dog barked the device emitted a high pitched sound. Pretty soon, her dog wouldn't even go outside!

This is a possibility and the poor dog suffered because of it.

Of course, a good thing to do is get an grownup, relaxed dialogue with anybody who is troubling the area. For some peculiar reason, it doesn't always work that a person who is usually very much in command of his / her feelings can't get past the concept that someone despises their dog and goes on the defensive. I have observed these people tend to be much more realistic concerning their kids.

Interesting, isn't it? My dogs? They each wear a Tri-tronics Bark Diminisher.
