All about horse colic



When it comes to having a horse, everyone that has a ranch will certainly want to be let in on one, especially for the kids, yet when you will have one there are many things that you will need to be aware of, as horses do have some special needs at times. I am not sure if you are aware of this, but there are a lot of horses out there that are dying because of horse colic.

There is a series of parasites that is causing the horse colic and for instance, if all of your horses are dealing with this disease and in the end they will all get to have a twisted gut, you should know that the money you will need to shell out for the operation will be quite much.
Horses nowadays don't get to eat the healthy foods that they were let in on in the past and that is why most of them will get to have their digestive system affected. You won't get to see too many horses out there that are just running free on a green field and eating grass from it.

Horse colic or equine colic is the number one cause of death in horses and when the gut of the horse will be bloated, the imminence of the disease will be much tensed. There are many things that can cause this disease in a horse and they number the twisting of the guts, wind-sucking, a rapid change in the horse's diet and many more. Remember that if the proper measures are taken in order to let your horses outside of this unfortunate scenario, you will never have to worry about things such as expensive surgeries.

If your horses look at their flanks, that means there is something wrong with them. A sign of a twisted gut will be sent out to you by the way your horse will behave. Of course, if surgery will be performed, an experienced veterinarian will need to make it.

If you want to make sure that your horse will be on the safe side when it comes to colic, you will need to employ fiber in his daily diet. Also, remember that if there are any signs of colic your horse is showing, you will need to make sure that you will contact the vet ASAP.
