Simple Tips To Stop A Puppy From Biting

Canines have got a purely natural tendency to chew so if you have not already, you need to get him or her a good amount of chew toys. If he or she is nipping when he or she plays you need to make sure you always have one of his or her playthings between your hand and his teeth.

Tell him "No Bite" or something like that in the stern voice if he / she bites you while you're playing then pull your hand away and stop playing. Give him a couple of minutes not playing with the pup, then play once more.

If he bites you all over again, do exactly the same thing. Make clear "No Bite" (Ensure you use a very stern voice. If you do notlikely to think you're playing with them) and stop playing with him again, this time for a much longer period of time.

Puppies are very public creatures and refusing to engage in play is often an effective training method. As soon as the dog starts to bite or nip, convey a loud, yelping OUCH!!! Glare at the pup, get up and move away. After a minute or so, acquire a toy and go back to the puppy. Encourage the puppy to play with the toy. If he goes for you with a nip, repeat yelping and walking away.

It is best if you get your dog accustomed to working for things - even play time. Before you feed the puppy, ask him to sit and then feed. Do exactly the same before leashing up for a walk. In the event the puppy brings a toy and asks you to play, turn tables and do a bit of training then play. The Puppy then learns when he listens and obeys and does something, there will be a reward. And this also helps establish humans as higher in the pack order.
